Lace Dress for Wedding Card

Wedding Dress Card
I woke up one morning with an idea for a card.  What a lovely way to wake up.  I, however, could not get to making it until I got my other things done.  It makes me so much more eager to get my tasks done, so I can play.  I got this dress pattern from Papercrafts Magazine.  You know I am always on the lookout for dress-related cards.  I love making them.  Well, I have been busy with trying to clear out my house but I have been giving myself Pinterest breaks.  Pinterest is so addictive, and I love that I could find so many different resources quickly.  I follow Papercrafts Magazine and got all sort of templates from their pinterest papercrafting download board of templates.  I love that they put it all there together.  I don't just use Pinterest for papercrafting, I found so many things that I am interested in, like recipes, educational resources for kids, fitness and etc.  Now you see why I have to just give myself breaks or I could be on Pinterest all day.  Anyway, once I downloaded the dress template, I opened it in Silhouette Studio and trace the dress.  I love the trace function in Silhouette Studio because now I don't have to print it and cut it out myself.  It makes it too easy and I almost feel like I am cheating.  If you are new to using the Silhouette Studio, here is a

Flip It Birthday Card

I have been challenging myself in learning Silhouette Studio.  It is not a chore for me since I love learning new technology.  I know I can easily pay 99 cents for a lot of the templates out there, but I rather just create it myself, if I can.  I know, at times, I feel like I am recreating the wheel, but I find this is the way I learn and get the most out of the software.  I watch a video on making flip cards and used the dimensions she used to create them on the Silhouette Studio.  I figure that I take the time in making the template in Silhouette Studio, and then be able to make the base anytime I want and quickly.  I have been immersed in creating templates in Silhouette Studio for some of the fancier cards like tri-shutter cards and flip it cards with other shapes in the middle.  Another thing that I have been exploring is using a note taking app.  Yes, my house is not the only thing that I am organizing.  I found this app called Springpad and it has been great for organizing and creating digital scrapbooks too.  I created a notebook of all my crafty creations among

Sky's The Limit Hot Air Balloon

I just found Lawn Fawn stamps this year and I instantly became a big fan of their products.  Not only are the designs cute, but the quality of the stamps are superb.  I'm always on the lookout for clear stamps that works as well as my red rubber wooden stamps.  Also, I love hearing Kelly Marie's enthusiasm as she stamps, check out her videos.  Her happiness projects in her voice and into me.  Love it!  And no, I don't work for Lawn Fawn, though it looks like a fun company to work for, if I was so lucky.   This is one of my favorite stamp sets from Lawn

Pop Up Happy Birthday With Flowers and Mason Jars

Eversince I saw this video with Lawn Fawn, I had to make a card with mason jars and flowers.  This paper pad, Dear Lizzy Neopolitan Paper Pad, from American Crafts have some amazing pattern papers and it had one sheet of mason jars that are dying to be cut out to be used.  Of course, I had to put something that uses my Silhouette Cameo.
Pop-Up Birthday Card With Mason Jars
I ran a piece of white cardstock with the Sizzix dot embossing folder through the Fiskars Fuse to create a texture background.  I cut out the mason jars out from the pattern paper and cut a slit on one of the jars.  Then I stamped and cut out flowers from a Recollections stamp set with Marvy Matchables yellow, pale violet, pale green and rose-pink inks.  Then I placed the flowers in the slit and cut out a plastic sheet to cover the mason jar to make it look like a glass jar.  I adhered the jars to the textured background and then adhere the whole thing to the green card base and place foam dots behind the flowers to pop them up.  I finished the front with butterflies die-cut from Stampin' Up Beautiful Wings sizzlet and white dashed lines around the textured background.

For the inside of the card, I follow this video to make pop-up word card in Silhouette Studio.  I created this happy pop-up in Silhouette Studio and cut it out along with the word birthday in Pacifico font.  I love the welding feature in Silhouette!  I folded and glue everything down to the green card base before finishing it up with a purple butterfly.  I love how this came out.  I normally leave my cards blank inside but I love the element of surprise here.

Celebrate With Feathers

I'm so looking forward to fall.  It's my favorite season.  I'm loving these cool mornings and I can't wait for the leaves to change color.  Nothing like it; I think I like it a tat more than the spring flowers.  I love the colors and all the feeling and images that goes with fall: apple pie, tall boots, pumpkins, wool skirts.  Anyway, I have a number of negatives

Thanks With Feathers

I have been wanting to make a card with feathers for a while and then all of sudden I see them everywhere in the cardmaking world.  Of course, I had to use my new baby to cut some.  I'm torn between exploring my Silhouette Cameo and creating projects.  I'm fascinated by both.  I would be in the middle of a project and then I would get distracted by my Cameo and start to create new cut files.  Too many fun

Happy Birthday To My New Baby

We took the boys to an amusement park this summer, and they are finally tall enough to go on the roller coasters.  I'm not fond of that sensation in your stomach, as you drop at a fast speed.  I was a little nervous about going on these roller coasters with loops and corkscrews but amazingly, there was nothing to it.  A  little rough on your neck with the rattling and jerking around but overall, it was no biggie.  I thought I was feeling my age when I had no desire to go on these rides, but it was a good to know that I can still ride with the best of them.  Speaking of being with the best of them, I finally got my birthday present, an electronic die-cutting machine, and now I am crafting with the best of them.  I researched this in the beginning for a while, and held off since I got so busy with summer.  I finally decided to order it to help with my holiday crafting needs.  I find that I am doing a lot of research to get the most of this machine and so far, it is delivering some amazing things.  You're probably dying to know

Masculine Happy Anniversary With Vintage Typewriter

My husband loves antiques and often want to drag me into one of those stores.  I do appreciate nice pieces but it's the smell that deters me and also, finding good pieces is tough.  I make this card with my husband in mind, of course, but with a vintage theme and some corniness too.  I try to be as corny as I can be since I know he will appreciate it.  We got to celebrate our anniversary for multiple days without our boys, thanks

Owl Thanks

It has been a whirlwind of a summer.  We did some new activities, and some oldies but goodies that we do every summer.  I have to admit that I did choose to relax this summer and not go crazy trying to jam as much fun in as possible.  It was nice for a change.  If you have been following this blog, you will see that I also did not post as much.  There has been days that I did not enter my craft room at all.  I can not complain since I was enjoying my time with my family.  Anyway, I finally got to create a cute little card.  I have been fascinated by polaroid frames and wooden embellishments as you can see in some of my projects.
